Transportation

do you need a visa to visit Thailand?

Before packing your trail shoes and trekking poles, please check with the ministry of foreign affairs of the kingdom of Thailand if you need a visa to travel to Thailand.

travel from outside Thailand

A quick search on google shows that more than 30 cities now have non-stop flights to Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) including Shanghai, Seoul, Singapore and Hong Kong.

More interesting, and also very useful is data about Chaing Mai International Airport provided by flightradar24.com

air travel from Bangkok

There are more than 40 flights from from Bangkok to Chiang Mai daily. Some airlines (for example, Nok Air, Thai Air Asia and Thai Lion Air) depart from Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). Thai Smile and Thai Airways International operate exclusively from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), also known as Bangkok International Airport – which is a bit further away from city centre but is served by an Airport Link.

Just make sure you go to the right airport!
